Privacy policy

Information the app collects

Location. When you use auto mode, the app requests your device's location to fetch local wind, temperature, and elevation data. Your location is used in the moment to query weather data and to compute the plays-like distance for your shot. We do not store your location on our servers, share it with advertisers, or use it for tracking.

Settings you enter. Your carry distances, club head speed, and unit preferences are stored locally on your device. They never leave your phone.

Searched locations. In manual mode, when you search for a course or location, that text is sent to a geocoding service to look up coordinates. The query and resulting weather lookup are not associated with your identity.

Purchase status. If you buy Strike Wedge Wind Pro, your purchase is recorded by Apple's App Store under your Apple Account, not by us. The app reads your purchase status from Apple's StoreKit framework on each launch to know whether to unlock paid features. We never see your payment details, card number, or Apple Account identifier.

Information the app does not collect

• We don't ask you to create an account.
• We don't collect your email, name, or contact details.
• We don't track you across other apps or websites.
• We don't use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs in the app.
• We don't store any data about you on our servers.

Third-party services

Open-Meteo. The app queries Open-Meteo for live wind, temperature, and elevation. Open-Meteo is a free, open-source weather API that doesn't require user accounts and doesn't track individual requests. The app sends only your coordinates and the data fields it needs; no identifier or tracking signal is attached.

Photon by Komoot. When you type a course or location name into the manual-mode search, that text is sent to Photon to resolve coordinates. Photon is operated by Komoot GmbH under their own privacy policy. The app sends only the search string you type.

Apple CLGeocoder. The app uses Apple's on-device and Apple-server geocoding to translate coordinates into a human-readable place name (e.g. "Sydney, NSW"). This is handled by iOS and is covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Apple App Store / StoreKit. When you download, update, or purchase the in-app upgrade, Apple handles the transaction under Apple's privacy policy. We never receive your payment details.

In-app purchases

Strike Wedge Wind Pro is a one-time $14.99 (USD; localized equivalent) in-app purchase that unlocks manual mode and the printable wind card. There is no subscription, no auto-renewal, and no recurring charge. New users get a 7-day free trial of these features automatically — no card required.

Your purchase is tied to your Apple Account and can be restored on any device signed in to the same Apple Account via the "Restore Purchases" option in the app's settings.

Data retention

Your settings live on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Uninstalling the app removes everything. We hold no data on our servers about you, so there's nothing on our end to delete.

Children's privacy

The app is rated 4+ and is suitable for general audiences, but it is not directed specifically at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we'll address it promptly.

Your choices

You can revoke the app's access to your location at any time through iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Strike Wedge Wind. Auto mode will not function without location access; manual mode will continue to work.

You can clear all stored settings by uninstalling the app.

Residents of the EU/EEA, UK, California, or other jurisdictions with applicable privacy rights have the right to access, correction, and deletion of any personal data we hold. Because the app stores everything locally and we operate no user database, uninstalling the app fulfills these rights immediately. If you have a specific request, email us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll change the effective date at the top. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice or App Store update notes.
